Sometimes nature can provide the best inspiration to paint! Do you ever look at rock formations and see stuff? I see a giant, laying down and taking a nap. So that’s what I painted.
Acrylic and charcoal on canvas.

There’s a restored gardens called Heligan where they’ve actually created a grass mound & finished it off with a sculpture of the face, which follows the same idea as this. It’s in Devon/Cornwall in the UK, if your curious enough to ever google it ;o)
Oh, I just googled Heligan and it’s fabulous. I love the lost maiden as well. Makes me want to start a series of resting giants! Thanks for the info. Jedidiah, I would probably never have seen this.
