Under The Boardwalk by Cathy Amendola

24×28 oil on canvas..

I saw a picture of this wonderful painting in an old dresser I was refurbishing…. it was so different from my traditional style of painting I just had to try it….I did most of it with a palette knife, and gobs of paint in parts…and this is what I came up with…sorry I do not have the artists name, it was so long ago…but it is my homage to him….

I call it, under the boardwalk…..

My painting style is described as, Classical Academic painting in oils, in the Italian Renaissance Manner …I incorporates elements into my paintings like that of the old Masters. (I use a graph on my reference and canvas,
then a charcoal sketch on the canvas, step #2 an underpainting and finally an oil painting) I hope you enjoy my work, and thank you for your visit…

  • Thanks Brenda, I loved it too….I wish I had more info on the original artist to give the appropriate credit….I just had to try it…as you can tell I used a palette knife for the majority of the piece…
