Woa!, i really like this, i love pastel but i suck at it, it kind reminds me the traditional art of Oaxaca.
Great work Cathy.

Hi Siafu, Thanks!, never heard of Oaxaca before, i’m going to look it up now though!
I’m usually inspired by art nouveau and childrens style for illustration.

Hi Cathy, so what do you think of oaxacan art?.
Cathy, 11 months ago
Hi Siafu, now I understand, South American art, Mixtec etc… I love it all, always have. I have a love of all ancient civilisations, really into history. I’ve managed to visit Egypt, touched the walls inside Rameses Tomb… but still haven’t got round to a trip to South America. Must do some proper research though as i’ve only ever seen fleeting references from media and museums and the like.
Cheers!

Glad you like it. Wow! Rameses tomb, thats amazing, the biggest thing i’ve been to is Montealban in Oaxaca, there’s lots of thing to look here in Mexico…i think i should get out more, ha! There’s also a lot of artists here that are not so famous but still have amazing work, heck, i’‘l even trown this, hope you like it: http://leonelmaciel.com/. Cheers Cathy.

Hi Siafu, The shame is there are so many talented artists just as there are so many talented musicians but only a few out of the sea of talent make it big, I guess.
Cheers

P.S thanks to the link to the painter, I shall research more, it’s finding the time for all this ‘brain food’ though, that’s the difficult part.

Hi Cathy, i totally agree with that, there’s a lot of stuff out there that we will never see or hear. And even i you had a chance to see all this you’ll need about 2 or 3 lives to se it all. I don’t know, but i have the idea that is harder to find different stuff in big countrys, i mean here we get almost everything that they make but it’s hard for people over there to get what is made here of in South America. Do i make a point?

So it was you! thanks a lot Cathy. It made my day. It’s funny, i’m a graphic designer and i think that this is the first sale that i have ever made. Thanks again.
