Cathie Brooker
Profile
For me Art is A esthetics R eflection T herapy.
I appreciate constructive criticism.
When I was 17 years old I won a scholarship to go to Art School and I started photography at Newcastle University. It was my first real social and creative experience and it felt like heaven-on-earth.
After Uni I was an Art and Photography Teacher. I took a year off in 1987, and backpacked around Europe and Egypt, living a dream. Since then I have been an Art and Photography teacher and a professional photographer in Sydney. I am currently doing an Arts Degree in Creative Writing at Newcastle University.
My ART photography allowed me to express my emotions and document my life style. Some of the photographs I’ve put here come from my era around 1990, the “Raging 90s”.
during a time in Sydney when touching, kissing, hugs, animals and flowers could happily exist for me. A world far beyond my cattle property childhood. Some come from other facets of experiencing life.
As part of my professional photographic life I have sold my cards and photographs from Melbourne to Cairns.
