Located: Adelaide, South Australia
The Vietnam War Memorial commemorates South Australian servicemen, South Vietnamese members of the defence forces and civilians killed during the Vietnam War as well as all Australian and South Vietnamese service people who served. It comprises a statue of an Australian soldier and a South Vietnamese soldier alongside each other and is mounted atop a granite pedestal. Side panels include Army, Navy and Air Force symbols of both countries along with a casualty list and description of the memorial’s planning and construction. It was constructed and opened in 2006.
