This image is dedicated to all those involved in the Colorado Massacre, July 20, 2012.
In light of those who repeatedly have said that life changes in a blink of an eye, and to honor those who rush in as others run out, I am donating 100% of all proceeds of the sales this image to the Mile High Red Cross (Denver, Colorado branch). This branch is providing grief counseling to those involved as well as housing those in the apartment complex of the shooter who has booby-trapped his apartment. They cannot re-enter their abodes until this is resolved.
I chose this flower for a reason. This is a Fourth of July hybrid tea rose — a mix of families like all of us who have entered this nation. It re-blooms throughout the growing season, showing tremendous tenacity, hardiness and disease resistance even when roses around it grow sick. Its cheerful disposition in the garden reminds us of the joys of life even when troubles surround us.
