At times I wonder where I am going
The Streets seem so lonely
The lights in the night shine down on me
The sounds of the city deafening at times
The children around me seeming to be as lost as I
Huddeling together for warmth and love
Alone at times even in a crowd
The chill of the night
The hunger in our bellies
The fate it seems as a fence of non-exsistant wire
No way out..no where to go
Screaming desire to be free
Tears run like water on our faces
Hands cold with no gloves
Fingers touching to stay close
Mountains of steel surround us….
Valleys of streets and cars
Water from the sewers rushing by
Steam rising to keep us warm
Houses of cardboard..as shelter
Hear our cries….
Guide us home
Quiet this longing for a real family
Lonely always wandering….
Tears shed by children…..
Wanting to be free
Eyes hollow and empty
Seeing only dispair
Eyes meant to see happiness and joy
Are waiting hidden..
Take our hands..
Lead us to this place
Where the tears no longer
Run down this face
