Childhood Gone

Whispers of twilight
Hover around this place
The sun shone on this face
The trees..the stream..the swing
The sound of the birds as they sing

The once place of peace
A haven if you will
Has all but gone still
The swing stands motionless
In this place of Childhood bliss

I have traveled far it seems
Life has taken me down many a road
Sometimes carrying a heavy load
At times of not knowing where to go
I close my eyes to see what no one will know

I travel to this place
A place of solitude and harmony
A place that is meant just for me
I sit on the swing and go so high
My feet almost touching the sky

The air brushes across my face
In this my special place
Time it seems to linger on
In this place of Childhood gone

Childhood Gone
