Artist's Description

Acrylic on wood. This painting was developed from a series of drawings of a stool that was wrapped in paper and tied with string. Many drawings of the original stool, many drawings of the wrapped stool and lots of processing. I called this work Metamorphosis as it reminded me of the journey the caterpillar takes…. turning into the moth or butterfly and the many hazards it faces. The many layers and complexities of such an amazing journey. Original SOLD

The subconcious is amazing ground, scary but amazing. Through this work I was able to understand and appreciate my journey, as both a woman and an artist.

The fact that I was able to relate to this change so well, was because there was a huge one taking place in my growth and developement at that time.
