Inspiration:

    Thanks Karin apparently they took a photo with a couple of people pointing to it at the gallery and it will be in The Advertiser Woolgoolga’s local paper. I’m glad you like it. It’s hard to get an accurate image showing the detail because of it’s size.

    Hi Karin I’m excited and nervous tooo! It’s going well has been pretty hectic putting the finishing touches, you know fiddly bits, and framing work. I really don’t like framing.

    Also not being able to share with my class mates has been sad. I found out that it was only me and another girl in my class chosen to exhibit from the Tafe. Both of us were sworn to secrecy and I only found out about her yesterday from the gallery. So it opens this Saturday at 3pm and my family and some friends will be there. I guess it’s people’s reaction that you worry about…...like what if they think I’m crazy lol when they look at Ophelia.

    Anyway she was a bit of fun. After all the research and concentration spent on Whispers from the Dreaming I needed to splash some paint around.

    All the work has to be under $500 so that’s why I’m not putting Whispers from the dreaming in.

    I need to catch up on what everyone has been doing. Thanks for your continued support my dear friend.

    I am so glad you love it Patricia I kinda think its a bit crazy lol. I must venture down to the city one day and catch up. Who knows maybe at the Manly arts festival.

    This is an amazing piece, Cate. Reminiscent of your “Picasso style self portrait”, I think. Full of tasty little details – kind of Kandinsky meets Picasso … meets Shakespeare!

    lol… you are a funny man. I meant to call you guys and let you know I’ve been so busy. It’s at the Lake Russell Gallery this Saturday 15th August. Starts at 3.00 pm til 5.00 pm. After that I think it’s there for a month. It would be wonderful to see you guys there. I haven’t been able to talk about it as my teacher asked me to keep quiet, but since it’s only two days away I thought I’d better mention it.

    Thanks Katia lovely of you to say so. I just sold the original of this at my first exhibition. I am so happy! This kinda just came out of me lol took a couple of days and there she was. It was a release for me to throw some paint around after working intensely on “Whispers From the Dreaming” for the last couple of months. I still haven’t finished that work yet.

    Thank you. This work was inspired by a colour. I saw a painting in different hues of this one colour. The colour stuck in my mind, so I went to the art shop looked for something similar. Then I just splashed the colour around, the canvas dictated the outcome. I am so glad you like it.
