Wonderful Cate, i would like to see the pupils a bit bigger and the catchlights a bit brighter , just my thoughts and i hope u do well….....

Thanks Bev I really appreciate your feedback. For me the eyes and nose are the hardest things to get right. At the momentit’s just practice, practice, practice for me. Hopefully I will be able to achieve something decent in the end.

Great you are doing your Certificate in Visual Arts – congrats.
What a striking portrait in chracoal pencil – it is a medium i have not tried.. and would imagine it to be difficult!
I like the texture and movement in the hair – this is very expressive. I also like the contrast it has with the smoothness of the face. I am no portrait artist – i like the moodiness in the piece and feel an engagement with it.
All the best with the series and the future exhibition of your work!

Hi Patricia, thank you so much for stopping by and your positive feedback. Yep I hope to go on to do my diploma next year. I really need to brush up on my drawing skills. I have loads of fantastic ideas and to be able to achieve them to my best ability I need to be able to draw well. I don’t know how you can possibly say you are no portrait artist. Your paintings are exceptional. I am sure that you could do anything you set your mind to, you have such a gift.
I believe that we will have to exhibit our paintings (how scary). So I will put everything I have into making them a high standard as it will be my public debut.

Thank you Patricia. Your support means so much to me. Of course I will let you know, and if you were able to attend it would be such a pleasure to meet you. I will be sharing my journey on here, what a treasure to have such wonderful artists for friends to give you that support and feedback along the way.
