Hare and Hound

Yes, there really is a Hare being chased buy a hound (my dog) somewhere in this image…trouble is, the trees are in the way. I sat on a grassy hillock waiting for the dog to come back for 20 minutes, safe in the knowledge that he would come back without his quarry… man those things can shift! Still the dog got some good exercise anyway!

I can’t see the hare and the hound; it’s hard to imagine such infact in this calm looking serence scenery, but its a very nice photo anyhow. Love the colors and the lighting creating the peaceful atmosphere.

The thing about hares, is that they have a territory, and generally, when chased, run in a very wide circle, ending up back where they started, so it was fairly guaranteed that if the hound had nose, he would arrive back at some point unless distracted. The problem comes when two or three get put up, and they cross paths – now that is amusing to watch! The pooch often looks totally flummoxed, not knowing which way to run…...LOL
Nice bit of land, and a photo which has plenty to lead the eye hither and thither.
