"Fly"

These beautiful butterflies are Ulysses. All of them are male. I just saw the blue and fawn colour together on something and then came up with these butterflies in a rainforest setting which is their natural habitat. I think the two colours work well together. I get inspired alot by colour and the combination of colours together. I saw alot of these butterflies in nature where I grew up as a child in Weipa Queensland, Australia. They are just so magnificent in real life. I could never take my eyes of them. The original oil on canvas measures 60×90cm and has sold. Thanks justlinda. They are more spectacular in real life though. I don’t know how you can get that glow on canvas. The original was painted with irredescent paint on the vains of the wings. Gave a good effect.
