Its lovely Carolyn…I especially like the European trees…so different from our gum trees. It looks a very romantic place.

Nice artwork Carolyn, love the pastel colours & I like the way that the trees embrace the building, well done!

I love tuscany, Carolyn – and most mediterranean areas. Love the light.

I did a painting of the Andalucian, Sierrra Nevada mountains, from a terrace apartment I stayed at.
It wasn’t great, but I learned a lot about perspective. And it was my first ‘plein air’ work!

This painting is beautifully rendered, a tight crop of a fine view.

I tried pastels once, but found their square shape clumsy.
My first love is watercolour, but I’m just beginning….so lots to learn……

    Kind regards
    Colin.

Thanks, colin! I am very much still learning how to use pastels and watercolor, but loving every minute of it! Hope you are enjoying learning about watercolour!

A long time ago I was given the opportunity to study at the University of Perugia, Italy. This work certainly brings back the memories.
I love the perspective and the way the trees in the foreground really contrast with the subtle background. Gives the piece real depth. Well done Carolyn.

  • Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Jim, and also for adding this to your faves! It brings back wonderful memories for me as well!
