Mount Rushmore Up Close and Personal
Another view of this awesome monument, this photo taken with a telephoto lens at Mount Rushmore National Memorial (U.S. National Park Service), America’s Shrine of Democracy, South Dakota.
Photo taken with Kodak EasyShare digital zoom camera. I waited until the shadows were just as I wanted, then zoomed in as far as the zoom lens would take me.
Mount Rushmore Up Close and Personal belongs to the following groups:
AMERICA's National Parks and WILDLIFE Habitat, AMERICAN PATRIOT, Travel and Adventure and United States Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

This is a magnificent image for not being an aerial shot! Great job! If I remember correctly, when I went in 1993, we had to capture this from quite a distance! Well done Carolyn!
Carolyn Bishop replied
Thank you, Dyle! Yes, one does have to capture this from quite a distance (from the Visitor’s Center)! I had to push my zoom lens to the ultimate to get this!

nice image … is it real ??!!!
Carolyn Bishop replied
Yes, it is as real as can be — sculpted (using dynamite) out of the granite hills of South Dakota! Truly awesome to behold! Thank you!
