Mixed media on canson paper. Inspired by my love of pears! I’ve always been fascinated by the shape of pears! They are also one of my favourite fruits! I guess pear shaped says it all!

It’s funny that when people say things have gone all pear shaped, it’s supposed to mean bad, or, at least, strange; pears are wonderful. Well, they are when they are ripe, anyway. And, very pretty!
My grandmother used to make pear cake, which was some kind of bundt cake recipe. It was about the best cake I ever had and quite addictive!

Unfortunately, I do not have her recipe, but, I have seen ones that are similar when I was googling about. If you look for one, hers was the kind with wee bits of pear, and the pear juice in it. Some of them don’t have the pear juice, and I suspect them of being for the sort of people who are afraid of real flavor, so they eschew jalapenos and insist on low salt crusts for pecan pies, and all manner of other ill things.
Mind you, my dad doesn’t eat jalapenos, because they hurt his tummy. That’’s different!
