New Big Bear
This painting is acrylic on gallery wrapped stretched canvas. It is 24” w x 18” h.
When I lived in (or actually outside of ) Las Vegas New Mexico, we lived in a small stucco house way up a narrow road into a canyon. It was right near the edge of the forest where a lot of logging was done and the forest was thick and deep and scary there just up the road from our house. I never really saw a bear up there, but I always knew they were up there in the woods. To make myself feel safe, I always imagined that they were sweet, friendly, and smiling—like really big teddy bears.

Fantastic work cs. I love the way you use a background colour to highlight a subject then paint an opposing colour over it, very effective, really makes the bear POP!!
