Lotus in Motion, the Watercolour Project — an art installation by Gordon Halloran consisting of bold paintings in the shape of lily pads floating on the surface of Livingston Lake, Heather Pond, Heron Lake and the Bentall Garden Pool. Lotus In Motion, the Watercolour Project is an installation of shape and hue that finds inspiration in Impressionist Claude Monet’s Waterlilies, calving Arctic icebergs, and overlapping organic textures of landscape flora. Mr. Halloran’s lotus paintings bud from the natural world – each composition, a layering of pattern and hue resplendent with vigour. Mr. Halloran is best known locally from his wall of ice paintings entitled ICE GATE which he created for the 2010 Winter Olympics. All pieces are for sale with partial proceeds going to support the VanDusen Botanical Garden Association. Information: Caitlin Hicks 1.604.886.3634 www.lotusinmotionproject.blogspot.com
