Fantastic Carol! great midwestern shot, I live just off I-70
Have you seen this church? I believe it is in Nebraska but I can’t remember near what town. I took this shot from the freeway and have always wanted to stop and photograph the church but it seems like we are always pressed for time. This trip was to Iowa and back home in two weeks. 6 days of driving time. A little too far for such a short visit but we still had a great time with the grandkids. Maybe someday I can drop by and say hello when we are near Ohio.
a wonderful capture Carol.x
Thanks Catherine. The midwest has so many wonderful old barns and farms. We visit every couple of years and it’s always fun.
Oh I love this shot! :) What a shame to let this church deteriorate but it’s great that you’ve captured it before it’s gone!
Beautiful!!!! This would look great in Midwestern United States Photography!!!!
Thanks Lori, I have submitted it.
Hi Carol I have actually seen this church many years ago on my travels to Lincoln Nebraska to visit a friend, they live in a house quite near here which was used in Terms of Endearment ( the movie) – Please call in next time you pass this way I would love to see you!!
You certainly get around. You are right. I think it was in Nebraska. How neat that you have a friend that lives near there and having their home in the movie must have been an experience. I so enjoy sharing with you Kate. I’d love to meet you someday too.
what a wonderful old church..fantastic find Carol ! !
Thanks, Kat. I thought it was just great. I love the cross on the top and also above the door. It is so old and has such character.
You can really feel the desolation and abandonment. Nicely spotted, Carol.
It was a beauty, Wendi. I love it’s rugged texture. It looks like it has survived many years.
Hi Lori, What a nice surprise to be featured. Thank you very, very much. Isn’t it a wonderful little church?
