I attended the 100th celebration anniversary of the 1913 Corona Grand Race in Corona, California on Sept. 14th. .The Corona Grand Race Celebration began at 9 a.m. at the official starting line of the 1913 race located at Grand Boulevard and Washburn Streets. Vintage race cars that would have raced on the Circle formed a procession that honored the racers who 100 years ago sped into the record books on this same route. This is two more of the cars that were part of the celebration. Canon D40. Edited in PSE, Topaz and Smart Photo Editor.

Awesome photo – love the goggles!!

  • It must have been a hoot back in 1913 to see this Grand Race. Things have certainly changed a lot. Thanks for your comments Polly. I appreciate your encouraging and fun reviews.

A fine capture and beautifully processed to suit the historical time. This must ave been a really fun event to attend and photograph!

  • I wish the procession of these really old race cars would have lasted longer. There wasn’t much time to get the photographs as they wizzed by. It was fun for sure. Something I had never seen before. Thank you for the kind comments. I wasn’t sure of the tones I used but I think it turned out OK. I wanted to try something different than sepia or black and white.
