Caroline, were you at the Dutch festival today? I think this may be Jess McAvoy, who I watched play there this afternoon. I kept an eye out for fellow bubblers but seeing none, bought a few books in Dutch, craved some poffertjes, and headed on home. As the comments above attest, the passion in your photo is undeniable; lovely.

Great shot Caroline. This so captures and encapsulates the wonder of being a performing musician it does just wash over you. My 9-5 job is actually as a drum/percussion teacher/ performer so this one really strikes a chord ;-)

It would seem I am not alone being drawn to this image. Capturing musos on stage with emotion can be difficult, not least because they move around so much! You really got her distilled. B&W is brilliant and the title just adds. Very cool…

I’ve heard of her, but haven’t heard her perform. I love this – it’s a very intimate shot and you’ve captured her emotion beautifully. I’d love to take some portrait shots like this of musicians.

I remember seeing this but it appears that amazingly I didn’t comment.
She looks like she is in total pleasure – caused by the feeling she was putting into the song, or the adulation of the crowd, or just enjoying the moment, or all of the above. Whatever it was you have done a wonderful job of capturing it.
