Spotted Hyena or Laughing Hyena, Crocuta crocuta, scavenging kitchen scraps at night. They hunt at least as often as they scavenge. Spotted hyenas live in large matriarchal communities called clans, which can consist of up to 80 individuals. Their spots fade with age. Maasai Mara, Masai Mara National Park, Kenya, East Africa.
