Fisheye view of the interior of the Cathedral of Rio which is dominated by 4 soaring stained glass panels at the 4 cardinale points of the building, terminating in a clear glass cross at the apex.
The Roman Catholic Cathedral of Saint Sebastian, Sao Sebastiano, is dedicated to Saint Sebastian, the patron saint of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The current church was built between 1964 & 1979 & replaced a series of old churches that had served as cathedrals since 1676. Conical in form and with a 96 metres internal diameter and an overall height of 75 metres, it has a standing room capacity of over 20, 000.
