Artist's Description

The mountains of the Transantarctic Range, Glaciers and spectacular pressure ridges in the sea ice at Cape Hallett, Ross Sea, Antarctica. The ice is turned blue by the angle of the sun reflecting off the compressed ice. This colouring occurred for just a short while.
The effects of Global Warming are beginning to be felt in the Antarctic Peninsula, but not this far south yet.
Canon EOS, zoom lens.
