Artist's Description

Female lion, Panthera leo krugeri, portrait. Waiting in the grass while the pride sets up an ambush, Maasai Mara National Park, Kenya, East Africa. (Featued several times including Pictures with a WOW Factor.) Lions are now endangered. About 30 years ago there were about 400,000 across Africa, now the population is estimated to be about 20,000 and decreasing.
Canon 500D, zoom lens.
