Baby Orangutan, Borneo

Carole-Anne

Campbelltown, Australia

Artist's Description

A young baby Orangutan, Pongo pygmaeus, explores and practices its climbing skills in the jungle. Its mother is nearby. Semenggoh Rehabilitation Center, Sarawak, East Malaysia, Borneo, South East Asia. Orangutans are highly endangered due to habitat destruction mainly due to the establishment of Palm Oil plantations. If we all stopped buying food and other products which include palm oil there would be a chance of saving these amazing animals.
