Large male Orangutan, Borneo by

Large male orangutan. The Beta male in this reserve he is known as George. He comes only rarely to the feeding platform well away from the area where the younger orangutans come. He eats a few pieces of fruit and then disappears back into the jungle to continue his solitary life. Semenggoh Rehabilitation Center, Sarawak, East Malaysia, Borneo, South East Asia. Orangutans are highly endangered due to habitat destruction mainly due to the establishment of Palm Oil plantations. If we all stopped buying food and other products which include palm oil there would be a chance of saving these amazing animals.
