Button Grass, Dactyloctenium radulans. With long tall stems and spherical seed heads this plant can be found covering vast plains through out Tasmania. Water run off from these plains is responsible for the tannin staining in the water of the wild rivers. Especially the Gordon and Franklin rivers.
