Fantastic portrait! Can I guess Graphite pencil or charcoal or both with this? Call me nosey…:)

  • Carliss Mora

Carliss Mora in reply to DarwinsMishap’s comment, 2 months ago

Mechanical pencils, DarwinsMishap. 0.3,0.5, 0.7, 0,9, except for the outer edges of his face, and hair. There, I used 0.9 mechanical pencil, and further away from the face, I used, 0.8 graphite pencil, then for the background, I used a 0.9 graphite stick. I don’t consider you nosey at all. Whenever you want to know about something I do, just ask.:)) Oh, and thanks very much.

Nicely done!! I use mechanicals for detail work, but usually stick to my Ebony for most of my work. Very impressive work, Carliss. I hope to put some of my pencils up soon…I can’t..remember…if I have already. Oi. Most welcome!!

Wow! Truly great piece. Of course as others have pointed out the hair is gorgeous and you have captured the insensity in his eyes. Yep, I believe I feel the need to get a tato LOL!!!
    Great Work

Gail, thanks! This drawing has a tendency to do that to women, I have found. I’ve never even met him, but we used to communicate a lot on AW (artwanted.com). When I saw this picture of him I had to draw it. It was in color, however, and I don’t do so well with color. Glad you liked it. It’s one of my own faves. :))

Cate, I wish he would take a look at it so he could see, and I can tell him how much attention he has drawn, and how much other artists like this drawing (mostly women). Maybe one day. Thanks, Cate!
