Stroma 3 - Histology by

Histology is the microscopic view of tissue. There is some very beautiful photography of tissues in the human body and that was the source for this.
It was a trial piece and is made of ceramic tile pieces glued onto a 33cm square tile.

This one is great – it’s like someone has used a very old digital camera through a microscope and enlarged the picture – like it’s pixelated! Fantastic work!

  • Thanks, Michelle. It was fun to do as well, as the colours were suggested by different photos and aren’t what I’d naturally gravitate to.

the name is a dead giveaway
opening page and it did not need your name on it – marriage of art and science is working for you – the egg shapes would be good in fused glass – even foil beads to make them the focal points.
pattern challenges the senses – dark border would be good

  • I think I’ve actually lost this one Betty! It was a real experiment with colours I don’t use in large amounts. The piece is about a year old and I don’t know where I’ve put it – frustrating! But I’ll use the photo as a basis for more.
