carmaryblu is my user name on this site. The name has a history dating back to my childhood. It is a combination of my first and middle names as well as my nickname, ‘Blue’. I was nicknamed Blue because of my blue eyes, which seems a little strange as other family members also have blue eyes. I chose the spelling ‘Blu’ as this is the Italian translation which also goes back to my roots.
Ever since I can remember, my favourite colour has been Blue. My interpretation of Blue will be seen throughout my photos, as either the sea, sky, birds, flowers and objects. Sometimes I will play around with the different hues or saturation of Blue, but not always. Some photos are exactly as I see them through the lens, with little or no editing.
The colour Blue represents many moods and is often associated with depression, hence ‘feeling blue’. While this is true it also represents a feeling of calmness, peace, and serenity. We associate sunny days and good times with a blue sky or the deep blue sea. In Australia, a good honest mate is considered ‘True Blue’… and the list goes on! Google BLUE.
