Flying dragonfly taken over wild scrub land near Gibsons, on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, Canada.

Thank you very much Carla Wick for identifying this as a lake darner (Aeshna eremita).

CAMERA: NIKON D90
LENS: NIKKOR AF-S 70-300mm VR @ 300mm

I’m a retired stationary engineer who lives on British Columbia’s scenic Sunshine Coast, which although on the mainland, can only be accessed by water or air – just the way we Coasters like it!

Wildlife and nature photography is my hobby and passion. My primary camera is a Nikon D90 and most of these photos are taken with a Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm VR lens.

I appreciate and try to answer all sincere comments.

    Gorgeous dragon…
    Possibly Lake Darner (Aeshna eremita)

  • Thank you very much Carla. Yes, it does look to be very much like the photos of lake darners that show up on Google Images. Good eye!
