Artist's Description

Cedar waxwing eyeing huckleberries. Although it’s perched on a Western red cedar, it’s named for its love of the “berries” of Eastern red cedar (Juniperus virginiana), really a kind of juniper not found in the west. The red “sealing wax” on its wings is quite prominent in this photo.

Taken on undeveloped land in Gibsons, on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, Canada.

CAMERA: NIKON D90
LENS: NIKKOR AF-S 70-300mm VR @ 300mm
