Artist's Description

CAMERA: NIKON D90
LENS: SIGMA APO 150-500mm @ 500mm

This wiley coyote has just stolen food (a partly-eaten apple?) from a boy in his front yard and fled across the street, where I took this photo.

Originally a creature of the North American prairies and deserts (and known as The Trickster in Plains Indian lore) this opportunistic eater is known for its intelligence and resourcefulness. Thriving near human habitation, they have now spread from coast to coast.

As I unfortunately know from personal experience, coyotes have a taste for domestic cats.

Photographed on the Sunshine Coast near Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada.
