LENS: NIKKOR AF-S 70-300mm VR @ 300mm

Another view of “my” wild male Anna’s hummingbird, showing the varying luminescence of the feathers with the changing light. The bush is a wild red-flowering currant.

Taken near Gibsons, Sunshine Coast, British
Columbia, Canada.

I’m a retired stationary engineer who lives on British Columbia’s scenic Sunshine Coast, which although on the mainland, can only be accessed by water or air – just the way we Coasters like it!

Wildlife and nature photography is my hobby and passion. My primary camera is a Nikon D90 and most of these photos are taken with a Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm VR lens.

I appreciate and try to answer all sincere comments.

This is to be a fave, beautifully captured!! Love it! :)

  • Thank you Chris – for the fav as well. I missed this hummer feeding from the same bush yesterday, so I returned today and got lucky. I thought the sound of the camera would scare him away, but he seemed to be too absorbed in feeding.

How could this NOT win !! The blur in the wings to show the speed of them, the clarity in the eye, the beak in the flower, the depth of field. A shot to be proud of.

  • Thank you so much for your kind comment. I really appreciate it!

    PART 2
Talking of wildlife that are speedy, you can’t get quicker than a hummingbird ! :o)

  • That’s certainly true – they’re really the most amazing fliers! Thanks again.
