This is one of two scavenging ravens I photographed during a vivid sunset.
Taken near Gibsons, on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada.

I’m a retired stationary engineer who lives on British Columbia’s scenic Sunshine Coast, which although on the mainland, can only be accessed by water or air – just the way we Coasters like it!
Wildlife and nature photography is my hobby and passion. My primary camera is a Nikon D90 and most of these photos are taken with a Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm VR lens.
I appreciate and try to answer all sincere comments.
Love it, the sunset just adds a beautiful golden glow to this picture!
Thank you Chris! Yes, I like the way the glossy black feathers reflect the setting sun.

this is very good !Liz))
Thank you very much Liz!
A lovely capture of this lovely bird,I love Ravens they are not afraid and do as they please, some people think they bring bad luck, but they are a handsome bird. Well done, Shirley
Thank you Shirley! If there were any truth to the belief that ravens were bad luck the luck of the people of the British Columbia coast would have run out long ago :) The coastal Indians believed ravens had strong magical powers that could be used for good or bad, and yes, they are handsome in their own way. Again, thanks for your comment and visit!
You are very welcome…Shirley
Thank you very much for the feature Vickie – much appreciated!
