The birds that “hang about” and venture closer towards me are gifts, even beyond whatever photo I can capture. The fact that they creep that little bit closer is a gift on its own. I have a friend who has “mastered the art” of “being so still” that when he puts out his hand – the bird flies to it and will stay there without coaxing of food etc.
Maybe one day I too will be able to hold out my hand and these beautiful creatures will feel safe enough to alight and stay put upon my outstretched hand???
