Dancing feet of a Sangoma.
A sangoma, in South African tribal culture is a: diviner, a herbalist, a doctor. A respected figure.
To become a sangoma one has to receive the “call” directly from one’s ancestor.
A sangoma will not necessarely be a black person, he can be white, indian, mulatto, man or woman; still respected whatever color he might be – because he has received the “call from his ancestors’ and he has agreed to become a sangoma.
Approximately 2 and half years of training are necessary – under an already certified sangoma, to become one and go into practice.
