In the last couple of years, I have become quite curious about Buddhism. Last year, I picked up a couple of small books at the Temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas in Niagara Falls (and yes there are really 10,000 buddha statues in this temple!) and had quickly thumbed through them. After my trip to Thailand, my interest has grown and a few weeks back started reading the Complete Idiots Guide to Understanding Buddhism (sounds odd but it’s actually a great starting point!). The ideologies truly resonate with me and I have tried to start applying them to my daily life. That being said, I wanted a Buddha statue as a reminder of those ideologies and so this little man is now a beautiful part of my home.

Wow! I’ve always wanted to have a Buddha statue like this one..I will eventually get one, I only have a small wooden carved one for now. I’ve always had a fascination with Buddhism, I’ve collected many books throughout the years!Great photo!
This is why I was on the Market yesterday … got it at Laras. They have some pretty awesome stuff there. Also on Richmond … don’t remember the name but pretty much across the street from Mountain Equipment Coop
Wonderful shot of this buddha that is in your home : )
Beautiful image, Caroline … I find Buddha such a calming image, I have a big Buddha in my living room, he has pride of place!
Thank you Sarah. I found him a spot in the living room, right under a house tree that I have had for about 15 years. He seems quite content there!

Think honesty is the best way to live life. From my understanding Buddism is much about being honest and simplifying life. If this is the case think it to be a wonderful stream of wisdom.
beautiful words … thank you
