Anise Star

Anise Star

Taken on my dining room table in natural light and straight out of my camera.

Inspired again by my love of cooking these are the common spices, seasonings and ingredients that I use on a daily basis. Okay I lie because the rest of this series of photos are definitely things that I use regularly. These are just because they are just so pretty but I wouldn’t know when to use them to save my life!

Also Available – Cinnamon

Mouth watering shot! Thinking about the smell and taste of the star anise make my heart go crazy again. All I say is: pear, white wine, poach, star anise, chocolate sauce =)

You are too funny … I thought I was the only with food on the brain. I’ve met my match!! And yes the smell was amazing. They’re now in a little bowl on my kitchen table so I can smell them all day long. Cheap potpourri!!

Merci Carole. Mes parents sont de la Rive-Sud … La Prairie. Mon grand-père était proprio de Ti-Guy Taxi. Ma mère est de la famille Alexandre et mon père bien évidemment les Fournier. Un petit monde!!

Oh so love your honesty!! Certainly an amazing shape … not to be resisted. A lovely image.

  • Caroline Fournier replied

I just couldn’t pretend that I actually use these but funnily enough it was the first one that came to mind when I was dreaming up this series. Just been having a hard time finding some … but I just discovered the most amazing asian market!! Glad you like it.

J’ai souvent pris le taxi à un moment donné et c’était toujours Ti-Guy Taxi que j’appellais!!! J’ai demeuré 16 ans à La Prairie en avant du marché des Jardiniers. C’est vrai que le monde est petit…

    Love Peter’s recipe too.

  • Caroline Fournier replied

I may have to give it a whirl. Peter also emailed me a recipe for ice cream when I posted the coffee beans.

The smell of the Star Anise drives my saliva glands into overdrive.
My kitchen is well stocked with these!

  • Caroline Fournier replied

Really??? So what’s the recipe? I have them in a bowl in my kitchen now and I love the smell. I will put them to use, I swear!
