January 26 is Chinese New Year. In past years, I have cooked supper for my family on Mardi Gras but in the last couple of years we have gathered for Chinese New Year. Because of conflicting schedules this is set to happen on February 7th but I am already planning the meal. These placemats and chopsticks were a gift from one of the girls on my staff last year, having gone home to China for five weeks to visit her family.
