Love Love Love

Taken on the Byward Market in Ottawa, Ontario. I went there not really with the intention of taking any photos. I decided to throw my camera in my purse anyways seeing that the fall colours have started to come out and thought that the Market might be filled with autumn goodies.

As one of my comments below states, although I love the artistry of graffiti, I do not necessarily condone it. What I loved about this is that it was a positive message, which is so rare these days.

Although I would never condone graffiti … thank you to the person who actually wrote that on the bench! Actually I was just happy to see that it was a positive message for once!

This is a great capture. I am fascinated by graffiti and think there are some very clever people that add, through their street art, some amazing colour to the urban landscape. What i hate with a passion is the tag. tags are a scourge and need to be cleaned immediately they are done. cheers rochelle

  • Caroline Fournier replied

Thank you Rochelle … and I agree completely with you.

Ooh, love this! It would make a cool card for valentines day….

  • Caroline Fournier replied

Thank you Taylor … you don’t think that the rain makes for a sad Valentine’s day card?? I did add it to the cards group though …

This is a great find! It’s a good thing you had brought your camera with you..I’ve learned to always bring mine, and if I sometimes(but rarely) forget it home, I feel naked without it! ;D lol

  • Caroline Fournier replied

I usually have it with me when I go downtown like this but of course sometimes I forget (or the batteries are dead!). Either way I’m glad I even noticed it in the first place.

No, I think the rain enhancest he feeling of everlasting love. Like its staying there through the rain! I really like it!

  • Caroline Fournier replied

That’s an interesting point actually …. thanks Taylor!

I never thought I would support graffitti at any time. This image made me change my mind! ;)
It´s a great capture!! And I really love the raindrops… it makes the message everlasting…

  • Caroline Fournier replied

Thank you Madeleine. I love the art of graffiti because I think that they are truly artists and it is a shame that it is destructive to public property. Where I live, we have a park where they are allowed to go and paint the walls. It’s usually pretty phenomenal.

Thank you so much for supporting my work and buying copies of this photo. Enjoy them!

And so will a couple of friends who will get one in there mailbox.
Hope you return to that park soon ;)

An excellent find – really makes a great statement (like you I appreciate the artistic side of graffiti but do object to the way it is used sometimes!)

  • Caroline Fournier replied

Thank you so much … and happy to report that the city never actually cleaned off the graffitti so still exists to this day!

The grain and texture of the wood is wonderful and you pov on composition is excellent, but the inclusion of the words was inspired as it is a great social commentary, and evidence of how this well used bench has been used…

  • Caroline Fournier replied

I wish I could take credit for the words on the bench but they were actually graffitied on there! I think that the city have actually left them there too.
