A recent bundle created for the Disintegration Collaboration Group.
I started with a canvas, tissue paper, toilet tissue, and acrylic paint.
I used a glue stick (hoping for poor adhesion to allow for disintegration) to attach colorful recycled gift tissue paper, papers from previous bundles & photos.
I added leaves, twigs, recycled packing straw, and some other assorted “stuff” and tied it up with twine. On 6/1/11, I hung it out at the edge of my lanai where it’s been exposed to blazing hot FL sun, wicked rainstorms, and dust from the construction of the home next-door.
The photo shown below, was taken on 7/13/11. You can see that what used to be bright green gift tissue is nearly white now or it’s missing. All of the leaves that were green are now brown or they’ve fallen off. The photos are fading, the straw has darkened and the papers are stained. It looks like some of the papers are missing. The twine is very loose now. I think I may be adding/subtracting things to this one. There is mold growing on the back of the canvas which I guess I should have expected but I was hoping to use the actual canvas so I’ll have to see what to do about that.
