A Little Jar of Hope.

The waves are a crashing against the shores of the homeland
while I batten down the hatches on the ship of my own land
a wrong turn in the seas of my heart, threatens to tear it apart
stars are a spinning and hope’s are a thinning
fears are arising and dreams are skydiving ….

…….shhhhhhhhh…………….. I hear the trails and whispers
subtle, soft our defense, so wonderful the peace………….
so beautifully sanctifying its soothing grace
wishing, willing alive our souls to thrive
cooing, wooing our fears and searing dread
pleasing, teasing out our surest need of future life
promising answers and allaying long forgotten fears.

Prolonging our endurance in silky swathe’s
quieting the time and knowing the waiting
our seeping tears are sown in future years
the wind is winding but never binding
so please be still against its sounding shrill
all you are is within and not afar
so bottle your hopes into your souls
and squeeze tight the lid of your timeless jar.

I’ve always just loved art and my MO, is simply to produce art that I find interesting and that satisfies my own sense of what is aesthetically pleasing, but very much enjoy sharing what I’ve done with other artist’s and the world whenever possible, this is why I joined RB and it certainly hasn’t disappointed.

  • Hey there Larry!, was inspired of course by Hurricane Sandy and how people must be feeling in those area’s where it’s power is felt the most acutely. Thanks for the enthused comment :)

this is a total blessing. May you be blessed for this heart felt poem of hope. x

  • Thanks Y, it’s the least I could do to sit here safe and sound writing something about a natural disaster happening on the other side of the world. xo

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh….I hear a heart that is beating for all those in peril half a world away from him. It is appreciated and how beautifully and lyrically you express such feelings. An uplifting post. :)x

  • I can only wish that every one of those under threat of losing a loved one or the entirety of their livelihood would be able to take some kind of comfort in the belief that all will be well, but for some, that is not going to happen, and I wrote this in the spirit of hope that some of those would have their hope’s fulfilled. xox

beautifully written carboneye, a needed read, while I wasn’t under that sky, it was meaningful, to me. x

  • That’s one of the great things about art in general, everyone can see something different in it and find new meaning’s amongst the word’s or pictures :) xo
