I was inspired to do a portrait of a woman today who I feel inspired by for her strength to speak strongly of what she believes in…I am not politically attached to this person but I am attached to her in a way that is on another level-a level that is one that speaks to me personally on a level that is intangible in that I identify with her passion for what she believes in and what she continues to speak out for and to continue to be strong and I always respect strong women.
I viewed the interview of her on December 21 2010 by Andrea Mitchell Reports, MSNBC.
My portrait today is of Congresswoman Jane Harmon, D-Calif.
Homeland security committee and chairs the Intelligence Subcommittee
She talks of how it is disappointing that Pakistan is not doing nearly enough to take out the Taliban strong holds in their own country.
She speaks in this interview of reducing the U.S. combat roles soon.
She has always struck me as a strong, intelligent woman who speaks her mind and I respect her for these reasons.
