Reflections of Urban Street Life 134 by

This last weekend I was inside a fast food restaurant along Pacific Avenue which is a busy street in my urban neighborhood landscape.

I was with my husband and I noticed something that personally was so striking on an emotional level especially during this holiday season…how interesting that it seems to occur during the holidays…

I noticed the people waiting for the bus, looking into the fast food restaurant as I and others sat and ate food and I noticed others ask for money and I noticed others inside impatiently waiting for their food giving guff to those who worked behind the cash register for wages that would not pay for rent or give them enough to cash for a bus as well as pay for rent…

I noticed all of the humanity reflected in the windows that night and so I took this photograph as well as the neon lights of a landmark car wash that is pretty and expensive but is still in business because pretty and expensive cars are still being washed…I noticed also many cars zooming by…

These are my reflections of urban street life.

Yes, so often we forget all these things as we rush around in the turmoils of our little worlds, so locked into “Me”. Leaving “You” and “Us” completely unoticed. Thanks for this reminder :-))

  • thank you.

a great shot, displaying the contrast of modern life, which is faster than the passing cars.
Winners and loosers of this society so close together in one picture.
