One day in 2004, as I walked through Pike Place Market (located in Seattle, Washington, USA), I took this black and white photograph of a homeless man with an overturned shopping cart.

That day was one of many days that changed how I now see my world…

See and read how another changed how I view my world

this is a quite sarcastic picture. the messages: pike rd., no stops – tow away zone, meet etc.
i love it to no ends….
    masterpiece of photojournalism.

Just a wonderful message I just wish more people thought of it like you do. Your capture is a wonderful one, and a heart rendering one that no one cared to help him. I see it so much in my line of work. Thank you for hleping him and submitting a wonderful photo.

i love this shot! I’ve walked in this very location on one of my trips to Seattle, and remember buying and munching on the best blueberries i have ever had lol ;) love it!

  • Thank you Kelly for your comment and your appreciation of my photograph…you are so right about this great place in Seattle…I love the market, one of – actually if memory serves, the oldest continuously running markets in the Northwest…great history and great people do live and work here and so lively . just not on this day, but actually on this day that I took the shot it still is full of what the market represents because the market is a great example of humanity…there is an International Hostel just down the alley way from the market and so many people from around the world are walking in the marketplace from so many cultures, farmers from all over come here with wonderful fresh produce and all of the urban gardens also bring their produce too…great blueberries are the best
