INSPIRATION:

My inspiration for today’s drawing is Veteran’s Day.

I made this drawing of my brother and his two friends, his fellow officers, his “brothers”.

They are now all three deployed throughout the Middle East.

Whenever I call my brother I always ask of them. I always ask how they are doing, if they are safe, if they are…o.k.

I will explain to you why I chose to draw this portrait of three brave soldiers serving our country in our war…I chose to, I was inspired to do so in the early morning hours today because I respect and honor all of them and I think of all of them and I care about them and their families.

They represent for me so many people, so many families, so many soldiers who serve, sacrifice and are far from us but are yet near to us in our hearts.

This is my portrait for Veterans Day.

MEDIUM: graphite pencil on bond paper
