Artist's Description

H, here is a Christmas sky for your to gaze upon and to feel the snow flakes fall upon your face, to feel the crisp air that catches your breath and gives you energy and vitality, the anticipation of the year to come, the excitement, the exhilaration of the moon, the stars, the life and joy and happiness surrounding you during this wonderful season.
Look up, taste the snowflakes, breathe, exhale, laugh and smile.

encaustic abstract color painting of the moon and snow and stars
I was inspired to create this painting while looking out at the sky on a clear winter night.
The moon so large, the snow just falling so softly and the light of the moon making the snowflakes translucent so that I was able to also see the stars through them, to see what for me to be an endless night and an vastness of possibilities.
For me, the winter season is one that represents freshness and feelings of rejuvenation of spirit.
mixed media: bees wax, powder pigment, hard pastel, damar, oil paint, on hardboard
