My portrait today is of a United States Officer, he is my brother.
I chose today to draw his portrait using the color blue.
For me the color blue symbolizes the sky and sea-he loves the water as do I, for me the color blue also symbolizes depth and stability, trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, and truth.
I have several family members in our war and I respect and honor them all as well as all who dedicate themselves to serving in our war.
My brother is the reason I created my “Our War” series because I wanted to be near him in some way and because of this I have become near so many and I have learned so much and I have unstuck my head out of the sand to become more aware of how many deserve my respect and my gratitude for their sacrifice.
Which brings me back to my brother because without him I never would care as much as I do or take the time as I do to learn more about what is going on about our war.
You see without my love for my brother-without knowing my brother as I do, knowing his character, his dedication, his honesty, his heart and his soul and his sincere caring for others has taught me much-I believe that my brother is the reason that I know now why it is important to care about our war, why it is important to learn more about our war why it is important to do and not just to talk because he is a person who teaches through his actions. I have always known these lessons to be true but to see him put them into practice in his daily life and in our war is something that reminds me that I am always learning.
His smile-just the thought of his smile, makes me smile. His laugh-just the thought of his laugh, makes me laugh.
H, I love you.
